**TSMC Arizona Facility Matches Taiwan Production Yields Early**
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has achieved production yields at its Arizona facility that are on par with those of its established plants in Taiwan. This milestone indicates that TSMC’s American project is progressing well, despite initial challenges. The company started engineering wafer production in April using advanced 4-nanometer process technology, and the yield rates are now comparable to those in Tainan, Taiwan. Although the full production start has been delayed to 2025 due to labor shortages, TSMC’s Arizona plant is crucial for reducing the U.S. reliance on foreign-produced chips and enhancing domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.
